“New Tumor Model of Genotype-Specific Development and Local Invasion in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma.”

Abstract: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has a unique and complex biology making it especially difficult to identify and treat. Current in vivo animal models have served well for understanding disease progression, but the associated cost and resources make them undesirable for front-end study. Existing in vitro models, while cheaper and easier to use, fall short in adequately replicating the PDAC microenvironment. Here we introduce a new model that aims to replicate genotype-specific pancreatic cancer cell (PCC) behavior in vitro.
